Amsterdam

Hey Everyone! Just got back yesterday from my trip to Amsterdam to see my cousin Heather. We had a great few days! Here's the photos.

After arriving at the apartment Sunday afternoon, Heather and I decided to go for a walk and pick up our tram passes at the train station. Here's our walk..

Madame Tussaud's. We didn't go in but there were some cool figures on the outside.

There was a major party going on just outside the palace (background) with this super cool sculpture.

The next day we decided to head out to Utrecht to see the Miffy Museum (for Nina), although it was closed, and to get some art supplies. We had a pretty chill day and just walked around, and ate at a nice restaurant. Here's more pictures of the train station.

Me, Heather, and Nina... this was like the 5th photo... I look awful, but my cousins look cute. Plus you can tell Kat is getting tired of holding Nina up after about 2 minutes.

Back in Amsterdam we walked around trying to find some famous Dutch Apple pie... but we kept passing the street we needed to turn on...

As you look at my photos try to take notice of all the sinking/ leaning houses.

The next morning we did a canal cruise (Nina was so excited). Here's a photo of me, my cousins, and my cousins friends on the boat before the cruise started.

Boats, the second picture with the big boat is actually the Maritime museum, and next to that is the old weaponry, but you can't really see it.

One of the few spots where if you look straight through you can see the canals all the way down.

Notice the white things sticking out on the tops of all the buildings. These are hooks, most of the buildings in Amsterdam are too narrow and have too narrow and steep staircases to move furniture up. They use the hook to lift the furniture and go through the windows.

After the boat cruise we walked a little ways to go get some real Dutch Apple pie. It was delicious!

After eating Pie, we split up. I went with Heather's two friends to the Van Gogh Museum while Heather Kat and Nina went shopping. Here's the walk..

The Rijks Museum, and the Van Gogh museum is just on the left, you can't see it in this picture but it's really nothing special. Unfortunately you're not allowed to take pictures in the museum either. :-(

From the Van Gogh museum we went to see the I AMsterdam sign, and we chilled in the park.

That's all the good pictures. No idea what I'm doing yet for spring break, hopefully Nice, and maybe Berlin.. and then I might meet up with Valentina (from Basel) again. I only have two more weeks of teaching, 4 weeks of traveling and then I come home!
